Ong be (Lingaonese), fusing Thai, Vietnamese, and vahcuengh, bears the time-honored history and charismatic culture of the people living on the splendid Northwestern coast of Hainan island.

Lingao County is located between Qiongzhou Fault-defense Strait and Wuzhishan land area. Since Pliocene, the shallow sea has been gentle and the submarine land has become the coastal land area. When the uplift broke, the basalt flowed out in large quantities and became a lava field. The county is part of the Qiongbei lava table area, the terrain is flat. Maanshan, Dahan, Meilang and Black Mountains in the south, Duo-Wenling in the southeast of the center, and high mountains in the north are all below 306 meters above sea level. The higher part of the platform is a volcanic area. The middle and lower reaches of Wentiao River are plain areas. The whole terrain is high in the south and low in the north, sloping from south to north, like a palm. Most rivers flow from south to north. The county can be divided into three regions: the northern coastal area, the central plain and the southern and eastern hills.

1. Northern coastal areas
The northern coastal areas include Xinying (My town), Tailou, Meiliang, Dongying, Meixia, Maniao, and other places. There are Xinying, Tou Tsui, An Quan, Kun She, Tou House, Bao Wu, Mei Xia, Bo Bai, Huang Long, Bo Pu, Hong Pai, Ma Niao Harbour, and so on coastal regions. Xinying Port is the main port of water traffic in the county and also a famous fishing port in the northwest of Hainan Island. Xinying area is high in the east and low in the west, with the semi-hilly platform in the southeast, a sandy beach plain in the west, and Backwater Bay offshore. The district is located in the coastal beach area, with "East Back Bay" in the south and "Xiyi Bay" in the north, which is a natural sheltered harbor. Meixia District has a headland of Qiongzhou Strait called "Lingao Point (Lingao Jiao)"; the east and west sides of the headland are natural swimming resorts. Ma Niao area is high in the southwest, low in the northeast, semi-hilly in the southeast, and has a peninsula that breaks into the Qiongzhou Strait in the north. The mountain range is the highest point in the northern part of the county. The Dongying district in the north of Lingnan is high in the south and low in the north and is located in the semi-hilly area. Meiliang District in the west of Lingling is high in the east and low in the west, with relatively flat terrain.

2. Central Plain

In the middle and lower reaches of the Wenlan River, Wenlan River, Bolian, Bohou, Meitai, Calai and Nanbao are located in the central plain, and six of the ten thousand acres of ocean fields are the main grain production bases of the county. The terrain of Wenlan River region is high in the west and low in the east, with uneven sloping land in the north and ocean fields in the southeast. Bolian District is high in the north and south, low in the middle, ocean fields in the northeast, and hills in the southwest, with an average elevation of 32-34 meters. The southeast of Bohou District is fragmentary platform with semi-hilly terrain, and the northwest is plain. Meitai area is high in the middle, low around, and the north is Tiaotayuanyang field. In addition to the sloping land in Lanmai and Yazheng two working areas, the rest are ocean fields. Nanbao District is high around, flat in the middle, like a basin, belongs to the sandy loam zone.

3. Eastern and Southern Hills

Duowen, Honghua Farm, Huangtong, and Longbo are hilly areas in the east of the county. The ground is uneven and inclined on all sides, most of it is red soil, a small part is sandy bad soil. Honghua Farm is high in the west and south, low in the east, and the rest is relatively flat, with an elevation between 60-120 meters. Huangtong District is located in a semi-hilly area. Longbo District is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, with more slopes and fewer fields.
The southern region has more mountains and slopes. Heshe District is located in the south of the county, bordering the prefecture of Dan County. The terrain is high in the southeast, low in the northwest, and hilly in the east, and the Dahan Ridge is the highest point in the region. Dongjiang District is located in the southeast of the county, adjacent to Chengmai County, hilly land in the south, flat terrain in the north, Ma 'anling in the southeast, is the highest point in the county.
In short, most of the county for the platform, hills few, and not high. The main mountains in the county are Ma 'anling and Dahan
Mountain, Meilang Ridge, "Black Ridge", Duowen Ridge and Gaoshan Ridge. The hilly area accounts for about 53% of the total area of the county.
